Airtel launches VoLTE Beta program offering up to 30 GB 4G data for free

Mumbai: Bharti Airtel is offering Airtel VoLTE Beta Program, up to 30 GB of free 4G LTE data in exchange for feedback on their VoLTE service. If you do fall into Airtel’s select VoLTE enabled sectors, this could be a good opportunity for you to test VoLTE as well reap the benefits of free data provided by Airtel.

However, there is a catch here as this free data is not a one-time sign-up reward. In order to ensure that users don’t use the program to eke out free data without providing any feedback, Airtel has spaced the 30 GB free data out into instalments which will be awarded based on how long the beta tester provides the company with relevant feedback.

The first instalment of 10 GB LTE data is provided on signing up for the program, after which the user is expected to update to the latest firmware in order to switch the VoLTE feature on. The second instalment of another 10 GB is awarded once the user has regularly provided Airtel feedback for four weeks. The remaining 10 GB is awarded after eight weeks of testing.

In order to sign up for Airtel’s VoLTE Beta Program, one prerogative is that the user has to be from one the circles where it offers VoLTE. This list only includes West Bengal, Odisha, Assam, Kerala, Bihar, Punjab and Andhra Pradesh. The second requirement is that the user must have a VoLTE capable phone and an Airtel 4G SIM card. Once you have these boxes ticked, you can go ahead and sign up for the Beta program.

If you are still uncertain about your eligibility for the beta program, you can head over to Airtel’s program page here and enter your number to check for eligibility.

Airtel does put in a caution for those enrolling for the program that they might run into occasional call drops and other network issues since the feature is in a testing phase. Hence, those signing up do have to weigh the pros and cons of signing up before enrolling themselves.
