History:
Karimganj County is one of the 34 districts of the Indian state of Assam. The city of Karimganj is the regional capital and the largest city in the region. The region continued to be part of the silhat sarkar and the Bangla suba of the Mughals. During the British era and the liberation movement in 1765, the Bangla suba councilor was taken over by a British company in eastern India, and the Sylhet region, of which Karimganj was a part, was transferred to the British.

Karimganj has a variety of hills namely the Adamail range, and Duhalia range, and has beautiful rivers like the Kushiyara River and the Longai River. The beauty of Karimganj can be traced to the fact that the train that covered this space is considered one of the finest railways in India.
