Sukma County is the southern part of Bastar and was recently built on 16 January 2012. Sub-Tehsil in 1952 under the Bastar region, later upgraded to Tehsil in 1956, Following the construction of Konta Tehsil in -1960 at SDO Konta office at Sukma headquarters. began in 1976. When Dantewada was separated from Bastar in 1998 Sukma became part of Dantewada County. Sukma began to emerge as a new district in 2012.
