History:
Karimnagar District is one of the 33 districts of India's Telangana region. Kotilingala in the district of Karimnagar was the first capital of the Satavahana Empire (230 BCE – 220 CE). Formerly known as Sabbinadu, inscriptions on the Katia kingdom (1083-1323) by the kings Prola II and Prataparudra found in Karimnagar and Srisailam provide evidence of the rich history of the area. It was previously part of Hyderabad Province before 1 November 1956, Andhra Pradesh state until 2 June 2014 and was part of the newly formed Telangana district by Andhra Pradesh.
