About Nalgonda
History:
Nalgonda is a district in the southern part of Telangana. The name is derived from two Telugu names namely Nalla (Black) and Konda (Mountain). Nalgonda was formerly called Neelagiri by the Rajput rulers and later became known as Nallagonda following the defeat of the Bahamian king, Allauddin Bahaman Shah. Nalgonda was formerly known as Neelagiri, a name given to other local rulers and renamed Nallagonda only after the conquest by Allauddin Bahaman Shah, founder of the Bahmani Sultanate.
