Khonsa is the capital of the Tirap region in Arunachal Pradesh and is located in the Tirap Valley surrounded by the Himalayan ranges. Streams, deep ravines, dense forests, and glaciers are some of the things that define the landscape of Khonsi. At an average height of 1,215 meters from the coast, Khonsa is a beautiful small hill station with natural beauty everywhere. On the border with Myanmar in the east and Assam in the south, Khonsa is also an important military base in the North East. The beauty of Khonsa is in many natural surroundings, however, one can also enjoy visiting the Khonsa Museum to see traditional artifacts. Kheti and Lajo Village, nearby are some of the tribal villages they should visit to see for themselves the lives and cultures of the tribal people. One can also visit Namdapha National Park, located in Arunachal Pradesh (about 166 kilometers from Khonsa) to visit wildlife. Khonsa has a warm and cool climate. The weather is not always so bad. The region has an average rainfall of 2605mm of rainfall per year. October and November are the best months to appreciate the beauty of this place.
