Home to one of the most spectacular festivals ever to come anywhere in the world - the Olympic Homes, Kila Raipur is a wonderful city with a love of sports and entertainment that is unmatched by any other place in the world. The village is about 15 miles [15 km] from the town of Ludhiana in Punjab and is similar to any other city with large fields of wheat and mustard that reach as far as the eye can see, as well as some tranquility and peace. On the three days of February, the village turned into a center of sports, enthusiasm, and celebration. Kila Raipur is known the world over for its celebration of home sports and lifestyle at its Rural Olympics. Since its inception in 1933, this festival has been the magnum opus of all sports festivals. The festival is a strange but great story, where sports fans from far and wide flock to see the joy and action. The three-day event sees all agricultural activities suspended and men from Punjabi families take part in many sports activities. Participants came from all parts of the state and neighboring regions to showcase their skills and athletics. As well as sports one can also see the celebration of rural Punjabi life with songs of traditional Punjabi music and dances.
