DHARCHULA, a remote town in Uttarakhand, is one of the most beautiful places in the state. Surrounded by the mountains of the Kumaon region and the high peaks and glaciers of the Punchuri Mountains, the town is on its way to India's most popular pilgrimage site, Kailasman Sarova. The Chirkila Dam is a hydroelectric power plant located near 20 km from Dharchula. The dam will be built on the Kai River and will generate 1500 kW of electricity. It supplies energy to the surrounding villages and towns. Jauljibi is a small bazaar on the border between India and Nepal (Uttarakhand / Mahakali) at the confluence of the Kali and Gori rivers. Jauljibi straddles the confluence of the Kali and Gori rivers and is a popular tourist attraction for Nepalese people and travelers across the country. This small bazaar on the border between India and Nepal is a must-see. Especially in November, the famous annual trade fair is held in that month. The Chilkira Dam is important because it was built on the Kali River and has a power generation capacity of up to 1500 kW. The Uttarakhand state government is believed to be planning to allow water sports on the lake adjacent to the dam.
