Munsiyari Khaliya Top Sightseeing
Munshiyari is the base camp for Nanda Devi, ideally located for high-altitude trekking to various glaciers. After passing the birch, walnut, juniper, and rhododendron trees, there is a long walk in the surrounding countryside. Bertie Falls is an ideal place to sit down and enjoy a cup of tea or lunch in a lush green environment that blooms in a variety of colors. Maheshwarikund is a beautiful place with a very interesting legend, just a few kilometers from Munshiyari. After being cursed by Yakshini, who lived in a small lake, the place was hit by drought for several years. The Panchaturi Peak is a prominent peak visible from all major points in the Pithoragarh district and looks magnificent from Munshiyari. The beauty of the five peaks in the Johar Valley is very fascinating. It adds charm to this already fun place. Perfect for relaxing, this enchanting natural lake is surrounded by natural beauty. From alpine trees to paper trees, this place is home to many musk deers and is rich in vegetation. Khuliya Top is an easy 10km hike from Munsiyari. In the summer you can enjoy spectacular views of the wonderful Himalayas. The five famous peaks of Punchachuri, Hardeol, Rajiramba, Nanda Cot, and Nanda Devi are clearly visible from here, making it a great experience for first-time climbers.
