Nelong valley
The much-talked-about NELONG Valley was finally opened to tourists in 2015 and has since become one of the hotspots for adventure seekers. It features high peaks with the same climate and landscape as Lahore, Spiti Valley, and Ladakh, and is very similar to Ladakh. The NELONG Valley is open from May to November, so you can plan your trip accordingly. The weather is really best in September and October, which is also the safest time for the monsoon to retreat from North India and travel to the region after the difficult and infamous Uttaracand monsoon spell. However, be careful when traveling after the monsoon season to ensure maximum safety. It is undeniable that the NELONG Valley is very beautiful. But beauty not only fills your heart, it also breaks it. The restrictions are fully valid, but they actually prohibit the study of history and heritage throughout the community. You can draw another similarity between Lahaul Spiti and Ladakh's famous Himalayan desert. Like these valleys, the NELONG Valley has a very rich history and culture that is being lost due to political turmoil and border conflicts. The village that formed the Nerang Valley was cleared during the Indochina War in 1962, and since then the historic valley has been occupied by endless military camps.
