Patal Bhuvaneshwar
Surrounded by the mighty Garhwal and Kumaon Himalayas of Uttarakhand, Belinag lies quietly in a calm loneliness. The small village town is the perfect place to listen to the calls of the mountains and regain connection with nature. Rich nature awaits you in this mountainous settlement where you can explore the breathtaking scenery of the Himalayas and the beautiful hilly roads. Ancient 12th-century temples were built under the Chand and Katuri dynasties. The entrance to the temple is in the center of the city and is protected by two idols, Jai and Vijay, who have weapons. The inhabitants of the temple are Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, and Lord Hanuman. The sculptures on the roof of the temple represent the intricate design and craftsmanship of the olden days. The temple of Chandikadev is also near this temple. Located 13 km from Patal Bhubaneshwar in Gangori Hat, the Hat Karika Temple was created by Adi Shankara Charya. The main deity of the temple is Mahakali Shaktipes, and the idol of the goddess is believed to have come here from West Bengal. In addition to the temple, this place offers stunning panoramic views of the blessings of nature.
