Lamayuru Uleytokpo

LAMAYURU Gompa, also known as Moonland, is an important stop on the Lekalgil Road. Hidden in the mountain folds of this mysterious land. One of the oldest gompas in Ladakh and Spiti. The entire region has benefited from the existence of the monastery, and it is believed that in one visit people will get rid of all their sins. The first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word "monastery" is the quiet and sacred place with its archaic design, devoted monks, and, of course, lots of Buddhas. A place where you can calm your mind with fascinating sights and scents that fascinate you. Imagine such a fascinating place in the mountains of Ladakh now! Yes, to my surprise, there is such a place! Ramayurgonpa Monastery. Located in LAMAYURU at an altitude of 3510 meters, this gompa is one of the largest and oldest gompas in Ladakh. It may sound sacred, but the happiness and harmony of this place is sacred! Built-in the 11th century, this monastery was the birthplace of the famous Indian Buddhist Mahasiddha Naropa. The monastery is known for its interesting history and the traditional festivals of Yuru Kabgyat.
