chand-baori
Chand Baori is a major tourist attraction in Abhaneri village which is the 10th-century commemorative exhibition of Rajasthan architecture and art. With three steps on the side leading to the water storage area, the stepwell is deeper than 13 floors and is decorated with more than 3500 stairs. Despite being over 1000 years old, it is still in a remarkable state. Preserved by the Archaeological Survey of India, this magnificent structure is no longer in use but still boasts of the remarkable mathematical accuracy of the ancient Indian sculptural style. This deepest step in the world attracts many pilgrims from all over the world because of its beauty which impresses you with its historical belief and architecture. Chand Baori (step well) located in Abhaneri village, some 90 miles [90 km] from Jaipur, is one of the oldest and most photographed monuments in Rajasthan. Built by King Chanda of the Nikumbha dynasty in the 9th century AD, it is one of the largest in the world. This is one of the best steps in India --- great engineering success. Too many tourists cross this area in the middle of the Agra-Jaipur road. The detour is only 15 minutes and the experience is amazing!!!
