Salasar Balaji or Salasar Dham is a temple located in the small town of Salasar near Sujangarh in the province of Churu, Rajasthan. Dedicated to Balaji, another name for Hanuman, the temple attracts countless devotees throughout the year. Salasar Dham is located in the religious center of the Khatu Shyamji Temple and in the temples of Rani Sati Dadiji (Jhunjhunu) and Salasar Dham (or Balaji). They are all located next to each other. The magnificent temple was built in 1754 and is now considered the Shakti Sthal (place of power), the place where all wishes are fulfilled. The idol of King Hanuman here is considered to be swayambhu (self-created). It is believed that in Shravan Shukla-Navami in 1811 Samrat, an Asian farmer, discovered a unique portrait of Hanuman with a beard and mustache while plowing a field. This statue was then sent to Salasar, and the temple was built in 1754 AD by Mohandas Maharaj. Churu also became a popular religious site due to the highly esteemed Salasar Balaji temple of Lord Hanuman. The hashtags painted here are definitely worth a visit and will impress you. Founded in 1620 CE by the Nirban Rajputs, Churu was part of Bikaner before India gained independence.
