nawalgarh

Nawalgarh is best known for its fresco and havelis; famous as the Golden City of Rajasthan. Best known as the "Havelis land" or "open-air art gallery", the small town of Nawalgarh is located about 30 miles [30 km] from the town of Jhunjhunu and does full justice to its assigned name. It is said that the Marwari people who traveled to such cities as Bombay and Calcutta in search of work often sent their hard-earned money to their homes in Nawalgarh. When their businesses began to flourish, they returned to the Nawalgarh artists to build magnificent palaces and showcase their wealth. This led to the rich construction of this small town in Rajasthan. Nawalgarh is famous for its fresco and heels and is considered the Golden City of Rajasthan. It is also the home of some of India's largest business families. Although Nawalgarh is a big city, the good thing is that everything you should see is within walking distance from the bus station. The city can easily be seen on foot. About two hours is more than enough to explore the Havelis and bazaar in Nawalgarh.
