Eklingji Temple is one of the most famous temples in Rajasthan and is located 22 kilometers north of Udaipur. The Eklingji Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva of the Hindu religion and its glorious architecture attracts a few visitors here each year. This two-story temple looks gorgeous with its pyramidal roof style and splendor carved tower. The outer walls of the temple are stretched out by descending stairs that touch the calm waters. It was founded in 734 A.D. by Bappa Rawal, Eklingji is said to have been the ruling god of the rulers of Mewar. As you enter the hall, you will see a beautiful silver statue of Nandi, and inside the temple, there are two other statues of Nandi engraved in black and bronze. The temple is filled with a pleasing aroma and is known as the four-faced god Eklingji (Lord Shiva) made of black marble. Its height reaches 50 meters and its four faces reflect the four species of Lord Shiva. Shivlinga tied with a silver snake is a tourist attraction.
