About East Sikkim
History:
East Sikkim was part of the Sikkim empire with its great history. By the 19th century, the region was under the control of the Bhutan government. After the Anglo-Bhutan War, the area was under the command of British troops. After the liberation of India in 1947, the area was part of the Sikkim state under the protection of India. During the Sino-Indian War of 1962, Nathula Pass witnessed several conflicts between India and China. In 1975, Sikkim became part of the Indian Union as the 22nd district of India. This region was under the control of the Nepalese people for 30 years in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
