The important city of Assam, Bongaigaon was the last capital of the Kamatapur Empire and home to numerous historical monuments of Assamese culture. Located in the center of the region about 180 km northwest of Guwahati, the city reflects the township and culture of Assamese. The incredible beauty of Bongaigaon is well preserved. The village took place on the map of the Indian Railways with the establishment of a railway station in 1908.
