Rajgir is a city where the atmosphere around its beautiful landscapes is rich in spiritual gemstones and colorful historical links with links between Buddhism and Jainism. Located in a lush green valley and surrounded by rocky hills, Rajgir is a spiritual city with a peaceful environment amid dense jungles, caves, and mysterious springs. Rajgir has many religious sites that are more devoted to Buddhism or Jainism. Both King Buddha and King Mahavir spent time here giving great spiritual and religious significance. One can visit various ruins, temples, and places here and spend some time enjoying their refreshing tranquility. Rajgir is famous for its rocky caves, castles, Buddhist ruins, shell inscriptions, Hindu and Jain temples, and even Islamic tombs. The area is well connected to parts of Bihar and eastern India by railway and roads. Rajgir has hot springs, in a place known as Brahmakund, a Hindu shrine where water from seven different sources (Saptarshi) meets and is noted for its healing effects. The natural beauty of Rajgir is beautiful. In winter people often go for a one-day picnic. In the past, Rajgir was the capital of Magadh. There is a Ropeway to the top of the Hill (Budha Stupa).
