Nubra Valley

The Nubra Valley Discit Monastery is located at an altitude of 10,308 feet, 15 km northwest of the Calzer-Panakir route, on the edge of the Nubra Valley desert. It stands on a hill at the end of the road leading to Partalpur. The Nubra Valley in Ladakh has so many surprises for visitors. Such a surprise awaits you in the Hander dunes, about 10 kilometers from the village of Discit. When the word desert comes to mind, people usually think of brown sand and a camel, but in Hander another picture awaits you.
