History:
One thousand years ago Rangamati was the capital of the Mog Kingdoms of Arakan. The king of Tripura Jhujaroofa conquered the Mog dynasty and conquered Rangamati. He established his new capital at Udaipur in the year 590 AD. In 1567 the King's Army Chief was Gopi Prasad. He assassinated King Ananta Manikya and became king of Tripura himself. Udaipur is the ancient capital of Tripura. A total of 59 Nos. The king of Tripura ruled in Rangamati. In 1901 A.D. Udaipur Division Office was established by the King on the northern bank of Jagannath Dighi and the Gomati region was established.
