History:
District Nerol was part of the Madras complex until October 1, 1953. On November 1, 1956, the district became Andhra Pradesh when the state was reorganized on a language basis. The name of the Nerol district was changed to Nerol Nerol district on June 4, 2008. Nerol is believed to have been located in the forest of Danda Karanya, where the Aryans first entered in an adventurous way with the rise of the Maurya dynasty. Nerol was also under his influence, apparently in the 3rd century BC. It was part of the Ashoka Empire.
