chail

The Chail is a quiet station near (44km) Shimla, known for its world-class cricket venue and luxury hotel, the Chail Palace. Surrounded by pine and deodar trees, the Chail is at an altitude of 2,250m above sea level. Visitors usually close Shimla, Kufri, and Chail on the same trip and many Shimla packages also offer the same. The Chail is ready for a day trip from Shimla as it takes about 2 hours to get here from Mall Road. However, you can also stay at one of the resorts for more information. Solan, another important city is also about 45 miles [45 km] from the Chail. The summer capital of Patiala, Chail was built by the former Maharaja of Patiala after being expelled from Shimla (he spoke to the daughter of the former commander of the British Army, Lord Kitchener). Since its inception in 1893, the Chail has been a popular holiday destination for Shivalik tourists. Three hills - Pandewa, Rajgarh, and Sadh Tibba comprise the tourist town of Chail. Chail also offers a variety of hiking and camping options for adventure lovers. Located on the banks of the Sandhupul River, Chail also offers a variety of camping options along the river. Travelers can also visit the Chail Wildlife Sanctuary here.
