Hamta Pass is a passage in the Himalayas, between the Chandra Valley in Lahaul and the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, India. The land is named after Hamta Village, below the Sethan Valley. Lower Himalayan herdsmen use the summer pass in high grassy areas in the summer, when the Lahaul desert is barren. The Gupta Pass gets its name from Hamta Village located at an altitude of 14,000 meters in the Pir Panjal district. It is famous for its hiking trail and should; while crossing the mountains passing from Manali to Chandra Tal Lake, the beauty of the surroundings is surreal. Wildflowers and herbs grow between 3000 to 3800 meters. This Buddhist village is a small hamlet overlooking the Dhauladhar range. Covered in snow during the winter, Sethan Valley is an ideal place to try skiing and snowboarding. Overlooking the Dhauladhar Range, Sethan is an ideal year-round destination for people who are not interested in the tourist trap. Located about 12 miles [12 km] from Manali, the Buddhist village of Sethan offers an amazing place for activities and events to share. Sethan is accessible all year round. It's really up to you, what you love most or what you want when you visit Sethan. January to May is the best time for snow-related activities such as skiing, snowboarding or snow trips (such as Hampta Pass during the winter).
