Barot is an amazingly beautiful village located in the peaceful villages of Mandi Province (67km away) in Himachal Pradesh. It is a newly discovered guest house and remains a secret. It is famous for hiking, camping, and trout fishing. The scenic and unspoiled nature and the flowing Uhl River are the main attractions for visitors to Barot. Ideal for going it alone and for a family vacation. Barot Valley is the gateway to the Nargu Wildlife Sanctuary which is a home to black bears, ghoral, and monal. This valley came to prominence when the Shanan Hydroelectric Project was proposed in about 1920 in India. Mainly was the exploitation of the Uhl River flowing between Barot and Jogindernagar. Since then the village has also been considered a tourist destination, but not many people know of this place. The forests around the village mostly Deodar and Oak are abundant in the region and are home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. One can choose to walk in the nearby forests and experience the beauty of the village. Barot is a beautiful valley surrounded by cedar forest, famous for its Trout fish farming and river fishing, it was a great experience to visit this place. Easy access to enroute Kangra from Mandi via Joginder Nagar.
