shojha-jalori-pass
It is located in the northern part of the Himalayas on the Jalori mountain road, between the provinces of Kullu and Shimla. Perhaps one could better see it as a snow-covered concert in the Bollywood film ?Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani?, in which actors Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are seen crossing the mountain. The ground opens in the second week of March and closes in December due to snowfall. Located at an altitude of 10,800 feet above sea level, Jalori Pass is located 5 km from Shoja. The highway is narrow and extremely steep, not to mention the rough and potholed, making it difficult to get into a car even in the first gear. The Jalori Pass Trek that starts here is a moderate hiking trail that sits amidst lush tropical forests and can be best covered during the dry season between June and mid-October when hiking is relatively easy. The road leads to the nearby Serolsar Lake and the 'Budhi Naagin' temple. On your way, you will come across a dense jungle with a huge variety of flowers, herbs, and medicinal plants. The vision from above is heavenly and is worth the journey. From there, you can get a spectacular panoramic view of the Himalayas, a world-class feeling.
