History:
]Until 1914, East Kamen was part of Assam's Dalan district. From the government. With the notification of India in 1914, the area covered by this area has become part of the western part of the Northeast Frontier Tract. The district was headquartered in Chariduar, Assam in 1919 and was renamed Bali Paratract. It is now an independent district headquartered in Seppa (until 1975, Seppa was Sapra, which in the local dialect means wetland). The name Kamen comes from the Kamen River, which springs from a glacial lake beneath Mount Gorichan.
Famous for?
East Kamen has several attractions. One of them is the Pakui Tiger Reserve, which is home to a wide variety of wildlife. A tribal dance festival is held in the capital, Seppa.
