History:
The establishment of the Lower Siang district was approved by the Government of Navam Tuki in Arunachal Pradesh on March 21, 2013. The Arunachal Pradesh Government approved the establishment of Lower Siang in January 2013, along with three other new districts. The territory was cut out from the West Siang and East Siang districts. The new district was separated from the West Cyan and East Cyan districts and was declared operational on September 22, 2017, becoming the 22nd district of Arunachal Pradesh.
