History:
Champhai is located in the northeast of Mizoram. Not far from the border between India and Myanmar. From the records of the British government (which ruled India at that time) from 1500 to 1800 AD, the Mizos who first came to Mizoram from the east were the Fengos.
So they called their village their clan name, like Chawnchhim, Rawihmun, and so on. You can also see the ancient Mizo heritage of the Champhai region.
