Sercchip District, Aizawl


History:

Serchhip District is one of 11 districts in Mizoram, India. The city of Serchhip is the administrative seat of the district. The district was born on September 15, 1998 and was excised from the larger Aizawl district. Depending on how it was made, it contains part of East Langda Tehsil and part of Thing Sul Suria Tehsil. Due to this direct census, the district faced many challenges in functioning as a full-fledged district management area. But thanks to the support of the federal and state governments, things are going well now.
