About Wokha District

History:

Every year, the British Government adopted Wokha as a Regional Commissioner. of Naga Hill under Assam. In 1878, Hq was transferred to Kohima and Wokha remained as Sub - Division. In 1957, when Mokokchung became a District with the establishment of the NHTA Wokha it also became a Sub-Division.
