About Alipurduar
History:
Alipurduar gets its names from Col. Hedayat Ali Khan served in the Bhutan army and was appointed here as Assistant to the First Extraordinary Commissioner after the 2nd Anglo Bhutan War in 1865. Colonel Hedayat Ali Khan was appointed Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces in 1865 on the banks of the Kaljani River. Alipurduar County is the 20th district of West Bengal, India. The district has its headquarters in Alipurduar. It was formed by the merging of Jalpaiguri district on June 25, 2014. Alipurduar received its names from Col. Hedayat Ali Khan served in the Bhutan army and was appointed here as the first Extraordinary Assistant Commissioner after the 2nd Anglo Bhutan War in 1865. Hedayat Ali Khan was appointed Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
Famous:
