History:
The North Garo Hills district forms the northernmost tip of the Gallo Hills region of Meghalaya and shares a long border with the neighboring Assam province, making it a gateway to the entire region. The Assam Government established the Resubelpara Development Block on October 2, 1952, with Resubelpara as its headquarters. The Meghalaya Government declared Resubelpara an executive branch in 1976.
