About Ri Bhoi


History:

District Ri Bhoi was founded on June 4, 1992, expanding the subdivision of Nongpoh at the time. The new district was cut out from the hills of East Oak. It is surrounded by Kamlap and Goalpara districts to the north, East Kashihill district to the south, Assam's Calbianron district to the east, and West Kashihill district to the west. Currently, Nongwah Syiemship is one of the missing Khasi states demanding recovery administratively and locally. Is 

Famous for ?

District was cut out from East Kashi Hills. One of RiBhoi's main attractions is Lake Umiam, commonly known as Bara Pani. The artificial lake has a large dam for hydroelectric power generation. The lake is also popular in sports facilities.
