About Bishnupur

History:

Bishnupur's first name was Lumlangdong (now Lamangdong). History records facts of its origin. As soon as Kwamba became king of Manipur in 1467 A.D. he conquered Kyang, a Shan dynasty in the Kabow Valley. He then took the name Kyamba which means the conqueror of Kyang. During Kwamba's reign there was a good relationship between Kwamba and the Pong king Khe-Khomba.
