History:
Peschwar was banished by Nizam in the 1850s and transferred Velar to the East India Company in 1903. With the reorganization of the state in 1956, Bhandara was transferred from Madhya Pradesh to Bombay State. After the establishment of Maharashtra in 1960, Bhandara grew into a district of the state. The old district of Bhandara was split on May 1, 1999, forming a new district, Gondia. In this way, Gondia and Bhandara were born. This area became the territory of England in 1853. In 1881, there were only two tasils.
