District South Satara, consisting of six Talca in District Satara and two Talca in Karnataka, was founded in 181949. This included villages under the institutions of the Jats, Aounds, Krundwads, Mirajis, and Sangris. Then, on November 21, 1960, after the establishment of United Maharashtra, South Satara was designated as the Sangli district. Two new tarkas were created in the area by Kavthe Mahankal and Atpadi in 1965. In 1999, the Maharashtra State Government created the tenth Taluka of Palus Taluka in the Kadgaon district on March 28, 2002, and later created the government.
