Ballari District
History:
Verarifort is a historic site with a history of over 3000 years. It was built by Hanumappanayaka during the Vijayanagar Empire. The fort was occupied by Haider Ali in 1769 and rebuilt by French engineers. The fortress is on the hill of Ballari Gudda. One of the main reasons for its charm is the fortress built on a monolithic rock. The fort is divided into an upper fort and a lower fort. It is a polygonal fortress with only one entrance.
