History:

The Purbi Singhbhum region is located on the southeast corner of Jharkhand. It was built after separating nine blocks from the old Singhbhum on 16 January 1990. Judging by the growth of industry and mining areas the region has a leading position in Jharkhand. Before independence the whole of Purbi Singhbhum district was part of the old Manbhum district and the ancient Dhalbhum heritage. After liberation it has been merged with the great Singhbhum. It is part of the Chhotanagpur plateau.The Dalma range extends from west to east covered with dense forest on the north side.
