History:
Simdega District is one of 24 districts in Jharkhand, India. The district was recorded since the beginning of the Gumla district on 30 April 2001. Simdega dates back to the Kaisalpur-Birugarh Parganas Empire ruled by King Ganga Vamsi of the Gajapati royal family in the Gajapati Kingdom for centuries and even during the British Colonial era. Historically, this area has been ruled by the Gajapati Kings of Gajapati Kingdom of Kalinga for centuries. This region is traditionally a combination of traditional culture and Odia.
