History:

In ancient times Giridih was surrounded by high hills and inaccessible. Giridih became an independent state along with the rest of India in 1947. Giridih became part of the Hazaribagh district in Bihar province. In 1972, a separate district in the existing Hazaribagh region, such as Giridih District, was inscribed. Giridih City has become a regional administrative center. In the year 2000, when Jharkhand was recorded in Bihar as a separate country the significance of Giridih as a region rich in minerals grows exponentially.
