About Ranchi District
History:
Ranchi District is one of the 24 districts of Jharkhand District in East India. After India gained independence, the Ranchi region was incorporated into Bihar province. Lohardaga County was created from part of Ranchi district in 1983. However, after the formation of Jharkhand district on November 15, 2000, the region became the first newly formed state. Later, Khunti district was recorded in Ranchi district on 12 September 2007

In British times, the city was the capital of the summer of Bihar, due to the cold weather during the winter. Ranchi is also one of the oldest cities in Jharkhand. Jagannath Temple and Ratu Palace are some of the highlights of the ranch history.
