History:
The Palamu was known by the Mughals as ‘Palaun’ or ‘Palaon’. The history of Palamus is very true from the Mughal period. The Palamu County District was established on 1st January 1892. Prior to this, it was a small section with headquarters in Daltonganj shortly after the uprising of 1857. In 1871 pargana japla and Belauja were relocated from Gaya to Palamu. The earliest history of Palamus is covered with myths and traditions.
