From the 3rd to the 9th century, it was the capital of Pallava, and from the 10th to the 13th century, it functioned as the capital of the late Chola government. Kanchipuram also known as Conjeevaram, is a town in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu in the Tondaimandalam region.
