History:
Pudukkottai is the administrative headquarters of Pudukkottai Region in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. A large town on the Vellar River. The Thondaimans of Pudukkottai began to rule fully in the Pudukkottai region from the middle of the 17th century until it was annexed to the whole of India after Indian independence in 1947, the Pudukkottai Princely State was annexed by the Indian Union on 04/03/1988. and became a division in the Tiruchirappalli region. The long history of Thondaiman rule is over.
