History:
Mancherial District is a district located in the northern region of the Indian state of Telangana. The regional headquarters are located in the city of Mancherial. Located about 244 kilometers (152 mi) from the country's capital, Hyderabad. After the coal mines of the English Collieries Company were established in the region, they became industrialized. In the 1970's, an Industrial Training Center was established there. It is located on the northern bank of the Godavari River.

It has a famous temple called 'Sri Satyanarayana Swamy Temple'. Many pilgrims visit this place during the 'Parthia Masam' to have a holy dip in the Godavari river and perform the "Satyanarayana Puja".
