History:
Gadwal is the town and regional capital of Jogulamba Gadwal district in the Indian state of Telangana. It is located 188 kilometers (117 mi) from the provincial capital Hyderabad and is a state convention district. Gadwal historically served as the capital of Gadwal Samsthanam, the Nizam chief of Hyderabad. Gadwal was previously part of the Raichur district of Hyderabad-Karnataka. Gadwal was developed around a fort built by the governor of Gadwal Somanadri.
