History:
Medak was originally known as Methukudurgam which was later converted to Methuku due to the growth of fine, hardy rice in the area. The district of Medak became part of the Katatiya Empire in the Bahamas, and later the Golconda Kingdom. Medak is a region located in the Indian state of Telangana. Medak is the regional capital. In the 20th century Medak province was part of pre-independence Nizam Province and was annexed by Hyderabad State in Independent India and now Telangana province.
