Baloda Bazar District


History:

Baloda Bazar is a district in Chattisgarh, which came into existence on the first day of January, 2012. It is believed that the region was named after 'bail' (bull), 'boda' (mule) and 'bazaar' (market). Apparently by name, the area is famous for the cattle market, also known as the bhais parsa market. In 1920, Panchayat was established in Baloda Bazar through the Sanitation Act. After independence, in 1949, Baloda Bazar was established as Gram Panchayat under the Local Government Act.
