Bemetara District
History:
It is said that in ancient times this was the empire of a queen named Vyomtara, after which the city was named Bemetara. Later, the customs of the land began to apply. Jarab Singh Verma, the last owner of this property from 1857 to 1906, Durg was all incorporated into the Tahsil Raipur region. Bemetra was under Simga tahsil and Navagarh was located in the Bilaspur region. When Durg was founded in 1906 AD, Bemetara was the main tehsil in three regional territories. From time immemorial, Bemetara tahsil included Navagarh, Berla and Saja block also located in the newly formed Bemetara region from 1 January 2012.
